Nintendo released a new Nintendo Direct today all based on the upcoming Smash Bros title! If you wanna check all the action out for yourself, here’s the 40 minute Nintendo Direct. If not, here’s all the news boiled down in one quick post:

General News:
- 3DS Smash Bros will be released this Summer while Wii U Smash Bros will be released this Winter
- Pow Block, Beetle, Fire Bar, Back Shield, Bombchu, Fairy Bottle, Ore Club, X Bomb, Hocotate Bomb, Rocker Belt, and Steel Diver items all announced
- Kirby gets the Ultra Sword from “Kirby: Return to Dreamland” as his Final Smash
- Lucario will Mega Evolve
- Yoshi now stands upright
- Rosalina’s final smash is a Power Star
- Little Mac has strong ground moves, but weak air moves and little recovery
- Little Mac turns into Giga Mac as his Final Smash
- You can choose Wireframe Mac from the original “Punch-Out!” as a costume
- Villager’s final smash is called “Dream Home”. Nook builds a home and it explodes.
- MegaMan’s final smash will feature every MegaMan from all of his different games
- Wii Fit Trainer can use Deep Breathing to boost her attacks
- You can choose to be a Male Wii Fit Trainer. There is no difference.
New Fighters:
- Zero Suit Samus announced as a new fighter
- Shiek announced as a new fighter
- Charizard announced as a new fighter
- Greninja announced as a new fighter
New Stages:
- Arena Ferox from “Fire Emblem: Awakening“
- Tortimer’s Island from “Animal Crossing: New Leaf“
New Mechanics:
- The Yellow Devil will be a boss enemy on Wily’s Castle Stage
- “For Fun” and “For Glory” online battle modes announced
- “For Glory” online battle mode will be Final Destination, no items.
- Master Balls announced. Will act like Pokeballs will, but will only send out rare, legendary Pokemon like Arceus and Palkia
- Samus’ final smash will no longer turn her into Zero-Suit Samus
- Zero-Suit Samus now has Jet Boots
- Zelda will not turn into Shiek anymore. Instead, her down-B special will summon a Phantom
- Olimar now has Winged Pikmin as his recovery move
- Olimar can only have 3 Pikmin at once, but they will go in order of Red, Blue, Yellow, White, Purple
- Rosalina can send Luma to wander on its own and attack separately
- You can create custom movesets
- “Smash Run” game mode announced for the 3DS version only
- “Smash Run” will be a dungeoning game mode where each player will fight in their own dungeon and collect power-ups for 5 minutes, then battle each other on a stage. Similar to “Kirby’s Air Ride”
New Trophies:
- Tiki from “Fire Emblem: Awakening” announced as a trophy
- Fi from “The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword” announced as a trophy
- Pseudo-Plautena from “Kid Icarus: Uprising” announced as a trophy
- King Kihunter from “Metroid” announced as a trophy
