I’m sure that a majority of the followers of this site are well aware of the band, Avenged Sevenfold. If you aren’t sure, Avenged Sevenfold, is a California based hard rock group that has reached high levels of success over the past decade. However, this article is not meant to reflect on the band’s background, but rather a new interesting project that lead singer M. Shadows announced at E3.

During an interview on “Up at Noon” with Greg Miller, Shadows announced that he and a small design team are working on a mobile game titled “Hail To the King: Deathbat.” The game is an adventure title where you play as Deathbat, the band’s long re-occurring mascot, traveling across your kingdom which has been overtaken by an evil force, and trying to reclaim your land. What makes this game unique is that the band has many of their popular songs placed at various points in the game. Not only that, but there are various easter eggs and items that all relate to the band in some way. The game will also feature concepts that pertain to the stories that each album the band has created displays, with the most prominent being their most recent album, “Hail to the King.” The game will function similarly to that of a Zelda title, with the functionality and concept of an RPG, based off of the information Shadows shared. The game was designed to be a mobile adventure that you can pick up and play anytime on the go, and from the information given, it seems to be a campaign touching about 10 hours, so picking it up when you travel is recommended.

When asked about the hardware capabilities of his new title, Shadows explained how they were not so sure how much they could create for a mobile aspect, and were really tested by the limitations that mobile platforms gave them. Since this is his first game, Shadows was unaware of how much mobile could handle, but they are trying to bring the game to market in the best possible condition.

Hail to the King: Deathbat,” will be available over the summer for $4.99 on the app store. Fans of the band will admire this game to the fullest and those who are interested in adventure games should look into this upcoming release. Check out the band’s latest album, “Hail to the King“, on iTunes today and as always, I’ll see you next week.
