Star Wars Trailer Ignites a Fire

Star Wars Trailer Ignites a Fire Within the Hearts of Its Fans. Finally, after months of anticipation and speculation, Star Wars fans all over the world got their first actual trailer of the new "Star Wars" movie, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens". At first, there was a lot of debate about whether or not this movie would even be worth...

Book Review: Little Brother

Hiya, everyone! Noreen here with a book review on “Little Brother”  by Cory Doctorow.  I honestly only picked this book up because it was suggested as a similar book to “Ready Player One” by Ernest Cline; if you want to read my review of that book click here to check it out, and I did find the similarities in this...

AKB0048; Idols and Explosions

Editor's Note: We changed some pictures around a little bit so as to not get nailed for copyright infringement. Cool?   "AKB0048", an anime lost in the world of anime. Discovering it became my wallet's undoing. Figures, CD’s, and posters galore! Honestly, I would have never thought that I would get so sucked in to this anime. What makes this anime...

Hatsune Miku Concert; A Letter From a Fan to the Fans

(Photo from the Miku Expo concert, New York, 10/18/14) The time had finally come where Miss Hatsune Miku made her New York concert appearance at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. My boyfriend and I were fortunate enough to get VIP tickets that allowed us to get a bag of goodies and “front row seats” at the concert! Here's...

Gotham Premiere Review *No Spoilers*

Batman fans, unite! "Gotham" has just premiered, and oh my Lord is it nice. I am not a Batman fan by any way, shape, or form, but that's the good thing about this show. It’s not about Batman, necessarily; it is more about the origin stories and just general bad-assery of James Gordon.  I’m going to point out something that everyone I was watching it with said. The budget for this show must be huge. Each and every scene done in this show is just great. Every time the show spans over Gotham, it looks absolutely amazing. Usually, the visuals of a show will be the last thing I notice, but its very apparent that they are working extremely hard to make this look as amazing as they possibly can.  Now. I know what you all really want to hear about. Is the show actually matched up with the Batman universe, comic-wise? No, not really. Yes, you have the general idea of why the villains are evil, but they are not the original comic back stories. Take The Penguin and Poison Ivy, for example. The origins that the show gives them aren’t the real thing. I’m not going to go into their real origins. What really matters is the show. I’m trying to judge this show on its own than as something from the Batman comic universe. Some people want this show to be about Bruce Wayne becoming Batman. That's not the show at all, and I’m sure that's going to disappoint a lot of people and those who are serious about Batman history. You need to appreciate this show for what it is, not some fantastical adventure with Bruce Wayne. The main character is James Gordon. You are going to learn about his past; deal with it. This is the pilot, so I can’t judge it too harshly. They needed to get everything across, and they did it pretty well. For a pilot the characters really came across how they should have. I have to applaud the actors, they just did their characters so well. The actor for Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) made me feel things for that character that I have never felt before. I actually care for him, and I felt the feels when his parents died. Then you have James Gordon (Benjamin McKenzie) who is just the epitome of a good cop. The way he performs Gordon is just perfect. You can see the true, good intentions that he has and I love it. I feel like these were the best actors and actresses for the show. Everything about these actors are great. They look right, they sound right, and everything in between. Overall, I'm actually a little excited about the show. I'm not...

Book Review: Invincible

Hiya, everyone! Noreen here with a book review on “Invincible” by Sherrilyn Kenyon. “Invincible” is the second book in the "Chronicles of Nick" series, which honestly saves this book from my confused wrath. I originally read through this book absolutely blind and thought that the book had no explanations whatsoever. In this series, you have shape-shifters and demons, but you really don't...

Book Review: Shadow of the Torturer

Hiya, everyone! Noreen here with a book review on “Shadow of the Torturer” by Gene Wolfe. WARNING: There are spoilers ahead, so read at your own risk.  This book came out of left field for me. I didn’t even knew it existed until my dad showed it to me. The books from the 80’s are much better than most of the...

Book Review: The Giver

Hiya, everyone! Noreen here with a book review on “The Giver” by Lois Lowry. Since the movie came out, I’ve decided to re-read this book on my own will, as I was forced to read it during 8th grade. At the time, I disliked reading with a passion. Now, I have a more open view when it comes to books, so...

Why Aquaman Is Way Cooler Than You Think

Hiya everyone, Noreen here. I’m going to tell you just why Aquaman (and his comics) are actually extremely cool and maybe just convince you to look into him. I’ve been into the character of Aquaman for about three years now, but my true passion for him rekindled earlier this year after playing “Injustice: Gods Among Us”. Not only is he...

Book Review: Into The Wild Nerd Yonder

Hiya, everyone! Noreen here with a book review on “Into The Wild Nerd Yonder” by Julie Halpern. I love romance as much as the next girl, but usually I think “sigh, let me guess boy comes into the picture and changes her whole world?” It makes it difficult to find a book of that genre appealing at all. How ever...
