The Pokemon of the week is Vaporeon! Vaporeon was released in Generation 1 (Kanto Region). It is the Water evolution to the Pokemon Eevee. In Kanto, there were 2 other Eeveelutions released along with Vaporeon; Flareon and Jolteon. Eevee evolves into Vaporeon when exposed to a Water Stone. Vaporeon is number 134 in the National Pokedex and is classified as the Bubble Jet Pokemon. The Pokedex from Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby says that Vaporeon underwent a spontaneous mutation and grew fins and gills that allowed it to live underwater. This Pokemon has the ability to freely control water.
Vaporeon has an amazing HP and Special Attack stat, which makes it great for becoming a wall for teams. It’s stuck in the UU tier and has an interesting battle set to go with it. Start with the item Leftovers and a Calm or Bold nature. Have the ability Water Absorb and the interesting move set of Wish, Scald, Protect and Baton Pass! Baton Pass can be switched out for Roar or Heal Bell. Have the E.V. spread be 204 HP/ 248 Defense/ 56 Special Attack. This all makes for a great wall in the UU tier and Scald is an all around great move to have. It has a high burn chance which will cripple a physical attacker on the other field.
Scald is the most common move of Vaporeon. If you see one on someone’s team, chances are, they will have Scald. Vaporeons are a lot of fun to bring to Free-For-Alls, and it’s design is so cute! A little mermaid dog is an adorable idea. Vaporeon is my second favorite Eeveelution right after Sylveon. But anyway, I’ll see you next week!
