It seems the more movies Marvel produces, they just get better and better. Between “The Avengers”, “Captain America:The Winter Soldier”, “The Amazing Spider-Man 2”, and “X-Men:Days of Future Past”, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been dominating the movie industry. Adding “The Guardians of the Galaxy” to their roster has done nothing but give them yet another leg up. Before the movie was even released to the public, critics were raving about the film and fans were pumped to see what kind of adventures the Guardians were going to go on. Fortunately, the majority of fans weren’t disappointed.

Chris Pratt was a perfect Star-Lord, making jokes and witty comments whenever he deemed appropriate. He made Peter Quill relatable and tears from both laughter and sadness to the eyes of everyone in the theater. There couldn’t have been a better choice for Gamora. Zoe Saldana was impeccable and one of the best parts of the movie. She stayed true to Gamora and her personality, remaining cold and distant but progressively revealing her emotions as the movie went on and she got to know the other Guardians and their motives. Groot and Rocket were flawless and their friendship and partnership was absolutely fantastic. Bradley Cooper’s voice was an outstanding choice for Rocket. His humor is similar to Quill’s, but slightly darker, and it was captured perfectly whenever he made a joke or a comment. There isn’t much to say about Vin Diesel’s performance, considering that Groot only says the same three words over and over. But his tone of voice whenever he said “I am Groot” was very expressive and actually had the audience feeling as they could understand Groot after a while. Dave Bautista was a peculiar choice for Drax but amazing nonetheless. He was a crowd favorite with his unintentional jokes and unbreakable passion. The villains were great as well. Nebula, played by Karen Gillan, and Ronan, played by Lee Pace, were vicious and violent and everything that a person looks for in a villain.

Besides the characterization, there are so many other things that made “Guardians of the Galaxy” so great. From the humor to the writing, this movie was almost flawless. While it may not be the best movie Marvel’s made in terms of story or cinematics, it was certainly the most enjoyable.

You don’t need to be a comic fan to enjoy the movie. You don’t need to know anything about the Guardians of the Galaxy to enjoy the movie. Honestly, you don’t need to know what Marvel is to enjoy this movie. All you have to know is that you’re going to be bent over, laughing for the majority of the movie and leaving with a smile on your face. “The Guardians of the Galaxy” is definitely a must see, no matter what type of movies you’re into.
