The Pokemon of the week is Rapidash! Rapidash is known as the Fire Horse Pokemon and is number #78 in the National Pokedex. It was released in the 1st generation of Pokemon (Kanto region) and is the final evolution of Ponyta. Ponyta will evolve into Rapidash at level 40. The “Alpha Sapphire” and “Omega Ruby” Pokedex entry for Rapidash states that it can usually be seen casually cantering in the fields and plains. However, when the Pokemon turns serious, its fiery manes flare and blaze as it gallops its way up to 150 mph. Once you get past all of the galloping, this Pokemon has a very regal appearance. Its horse body is build for running at high speeds for long periods of time and the horns and flames give it a sort of intimidating look. The Fire Unicorn is pretty cool though.
I haven’t run a Rapidash yet, except for a few Free-For-Alls with friends where I brought mine. But a set that you can run is a Physical Attacker. Rapidash’s best stats are its Attack and Speed, which makes it a very good physical attacker for the NU tier. The best nature for this set is Jolly, and you either want Rapidash holding a Life Orb or a Choice Band. The ability Flash Fire is the one most people use with this. The move set to try is Flare Blitz, Wild Charge, Drill Run, and Baton Pass. But sometimes you can switch Drill Run out with Low Kick and Baton Pass out with Morning Sun. Use the E.V. spread of 252 Attack/ 4 Defense/ 252 Speed. I’ve heard that this is a pretty good set to use in NU by a lot of battlers. So try it out, or see if you can make your own set!
I loved Rapidash when I was younger! I loved the idea of a Fire Unicorn and having one as a pet. I might run it soon on battle spot to see what I can do with it. If you’re interested in battling in the Nu tier try Rapidash out. It seems promising.
